New (Tamil: நியூ) is a 2004 Tamil language film which stars S. J. Suryaah, director and producer of the film, and Simran in the lead roles, co-starring Devayani and Kiran. New is about an 8-year-old boy who is turned into a 28-year-old man by a scientist. It is inspired by the Hollywood film Big. The film was simultaneously shot [1][2] in Telugu as Naani, starring Mahesh Babu and Amisha Patel in the lead roles. The Telugu version was also directed by S. J. Suryaah and released on May 14, 2004. New was released on July 16, 2004.
